July 2026
The month your parents' phones joined the school.
July was about families: the Family Portal became a true phone app
with notifications, four languages, and a two-minute setup — and school offices got
one-click tools to put it in every family's hands.
For families
- Notifications on the phone. The moment a teacher sends a message,
new grades post, or school news publishes, parents get a notification — in their own
language, with the school's name on it. The app icon shows how many messages are waiting.
- Email alerts with family-level choices. Every family decides which
events email them — messages, grades, school news — right from the portal's settings.
- Four languages, live. Português and Kreyòl Ayisyen joined English
and Español across the entire Family Portal — and switching languages updates the whole
screen instantly. A family needs another language? We'll add it.
- Installs like an app, from a link. No app store, no account setup —
add to the home screen in about two minutes with our
step-by-step guide, now in the new Support Center.
- A portal that fits every phone. Redesigned layout so every control —
menu, language, sign-out — is on screen and reachable on the smallest phones.
- Warmer welcomes. When a registration is approved, the family's
welcome message now includes their portal address, logins, and the setup guide —
everything a parent needs in one email.
For the front office
- Family Portal Links. One screen shows your school's portal and
registration addresses, printable QR codes for handbooks and open-house tables, and
ready-to-send instructions for any parent — with their login filled in. One click to copy.
- Registration, simplified. Each school now has one clean registration
link — nothing to configure, nothing for families to mistype. Organizations with several
schools give families a friendly chooser.
- Smoother switch-overs. Imports from other systems now handle more
source formats and student-detail fields, so bringing a school across takes even less
cleanup — most schools have gone live in under five days.
For school leaders
- Financial Center, complete. Family accounts, charges, payments,
statements, and online payment options — with payment reminder emails that write
themselves and a clear picture of every family balance.
- Reporting Center. 23 one-click reports — rosters, contacts, data
quality and more — plus a builder for your own, exportable instantly.
- Enrollment Hub. Year-to-year enrollment in one place: promote
students, plan the coming year, and see where every family stands.
- Credit tracking. Courses now carry credits through to student
records — the groundwork for transcripts that build themselves.
- Per-school calendars. Multi-school organizations manage each
school's calendar independently.
- A new edrova.com. Faster site, published pricing, a switching
guide, and a growing Support Center — including parent guides in four languages.
June 2026
The month teachers got their evenings back.
June focused on the daily grind: assignments that grade themselves,
enrollment that takes seconds instead of minutes, and records that keep themselves
accurate.
For teachers
- AI-assisted assignments. Turn any assignment into an online quiz in
minutes — AI drafts the questions from your assignment, you pick the question types.
Students take it in the portal, save and resume, attach links; multiple-choice grades
itself and short answers queue for one-tap teacher review. Due dates and retake rules
enforced automatically.
- Batch enrollment. Enrolling a whole class went from minutes of
clicking to a single step — and the roster updates itself the moment it's done.
- Attendance that opens instantly. Daily attendance now loads without
a wait, and the office gets a school-wide daily roster view.
- Classes that match real schools. A class can serve several grade
levels; class lists sort your way and show live enrollment counts and class sizes.
- Grade entry, hardened. Scores always save exactly as entered — we
chased down and eliminated a whole family of "that's not what I typed" edge cases.
For families
- Parents keep their own records current. Emergency contacts, medical
notes, and a student photo can be added by the family, from a phone — with a friendly
Action-Required checklist showing exactly what the school still needs.
- Today's Summary. The portal opens with a plain-language sentence
about each child's day — assignments due, forms needing attention, what's next on the
calendar.
For school leaders
- Report cards and academic records. The full lifecycle — grading
windows, posted grades, report cards, and permanent records — landed as one connected
flow.
- Receivables in plain sight. Family statements and one-click payment
reminder emails, so past-due follow-up stopped being a spreadsheet project.
- Start a school in the app. New schools are created right inside
EdRova — no setup call required — with lunch programs and per-grade tuition configured
in minutes.
- Clean record-keeping, guaranteed. Removing a student now cleanly
removes every linked record across the system — nothing orphaned, nothing lingering.
Our publishing rule: ship first, tell second. We don't post roadmaps or
promised dates — small teams that ship weekly don't need to borrow against the future.
New entry on this page every month.
